Trend Talk Thursday: Grunge Goddess
Early 90′s saw the appearance of grunge bands left and right after Nirvana took over MTV, and soon everyone was filled with angst and a closet filled with over sized sweaters. The girls of the grunge movement definitely made an impact too, the most well known being Courtney Love along with fellow grunge goddesses on the scene such as Kat Bjelland of Babes in Toyland and Kathleen Hanna, who would soon help spread the fem-power word in Le Tigre. These girls managed to find a balance between innocent baby-dolls, lace, mismatched colors, heavy layers and usually smeared makeup here and there – and soon it spilled into the streets, albeit quickly being replaced by the next popstar trend. Nowadays the grunge babes have for the most part moved on but it seems it’s time for the look to make a comeback – cue this fall’s runways. Many designers were heavily influenced by the rocker chicks of days passed and with celebrities like Taylor Momsen on the scene, this is a look we can expect to see on the street style scene soon enough. First Look! The Carrie Diaries
AnnaSophia Robb’s first shot as Carrie Bradshaw has finally been revealed! Young, stylish, and lots of wild hair – this look screams Pre-Mr. Big Carrie, a time when heartache was cured by a trip to Ben and Jerry’s instead of the local happy hour – but still involved a major shopping spree. Nice to see even in youth Carrie was always a lover of prints, colors, and to die for heels. Definitely can’t wait for The Carrie Diaries to make it’s long awaited premiere!
Mila Kunis Dazzles in Harper’s Bazaar
We nearly died over the Mila Kunis cover & spread in the April issue of Harper’s Bazaar – could it be any more Cameo? Seriously…whimsical, girly glam and perfectly pretty to the max. Plus we all know how much we love Mila round these parts. What a way to start our Monday. LOVE.
