Best & Worst Cover Girls & Boys Revealed

With the new year brings reflection on last year’s fab choices and serious faux pas..in the media world this means its time for WWD’s annual report of 2011’s best and worst selling American covers (ie. most valuable celebrity faces.)  Though we’re never too shocked to hear about the consistently unmatched success of fashion’s sweetheart Sarah Jessica Parker or girl-next-door sex symbol Jennifer Aniston, we must say this year’s results for the biggest bombs were a bit jaw dropping…despite her award winning cover performance in years prior, Gaga’s October Harper’s cover was among the worst selling issues of the year, falling just behind teen heartthrob (we pretty much only pay attention since Selena got involved) Justin Bieber’s Vanity Fair cover which was the powerhouse’s lowest number since Graydon Carter took the magazine over in 1992.  And while Kim Kardashian has certainly sold a few issues during her days in the spotlight, the infamous sisters’ New Year’s Glamour special is definitely on the opposite track.  But despite all of the let downs, we’re pretty ecstatic about the biggest surprise of them all (well, we’re not really that surprised but as the story goes)…our girl Mila was by far the biggest hit of the year, nailing winning issues for GQ, W, Cosmopolitan AND Elle in 2011.  For more of the list check out WWD.

Image

I think we can all agree Mila Kunis is an absolute GODDESS. Who else can play a young Angelina Jolie, a spoiled brat in the 70s, and Natalie Portman’s nemesis – and STILL be so down to earth?! This gorgeous hollywood starlet has found a new way to wow the crowd in her new Dior Spring/Summer 2012 Campaign. This self proclaimed “jeans and tshirt” girl steps into gorgeous gowns and stellar accessories that compliment her already stunning statuesque features.

“Mila Kunis is a very talented young actress; she embodies the true modern woman. Her performance in Black Swan was remarkable. She is very gifted,” Dior deputy general manager Delphine Arnault tells WWD. “We are looking forward to a long relationship with her.”
